"SAFETY is everybody's business" (La sureté, c'est l'affaire de tous), était le slogan d'Union Carbide. Alors pourquoi avoir laissé 40 tonnes d'un produit hautement toxique dans les cuves ? Pourquoi les 3 systèmes de sécurité étaient-ils défaillants ? Pourquoi ne pas les avoir entretenus ? Des scientifiques français ou européens affirmaient que l'usine, par ses choix même de production, avec des énormes quantité de MIC stockées et non produite au fur et à mesure des besoins, était "une véritable bombe à retardement"... Plusieurs incidents s'étaient déjà produits à la fois dans l'usine sur le sol américain et dans celle de Bhopal avant même la catastrophe (1 mort en 1983). Au delà de la première catastrophe, Union Carbide et son ingérence est à l'origine de la deuxième génération de victimes, par le biais d'une contamination des sols et de l'eau des nappes phréatiques. Dow Chemicals, qui a racheté U.C. en 2001 ne veut pas prendre les responsabilités de son achat et aider les victimes actuelles et futures. Combien de temps encore les mères de Bhopal verront leur enfants naître avec des malformations ? Combien de victimes fera encore la catastrophe et l'immobilisme des responsables ? 1984-?

French or European scientists affirmed that the plant, by its choices even of production, with enormous quantity of MIC stored and not produced progressively needs, was "a real bomb with retardement"… Several incidents were already produced at the same time in the plant on the American ground and on in Bhopal even before the catastrophe (1 dead in 1983). Beyond the first catastrophe, Union Carbide and its interference are in origin of the second generation of victims, due to a contamination of the grounds and water of the ground water. Dow Chemicals, which repurchased U.C. in 2001 does not want to take the responsabilities for its purchase and help the current and future victims. How long still will the mothers of Bhopal see their children being born with malformations ? How much victims will still make the catastrophe and immobilism of the persons responsible ? 1984-?
