Ram Pravad souffre de maladie pulmonaire chronique obstructive (COPD). Il a été exposé au gaz toxique la nuit du 3 décembre 1984. Il est parfois sous assistance respiratoire.
La catastrophe de Bhopal est à l'origine de 2 générations de victimes:
- la première génération, exposée au gaz toxique libéré cette nuit du 3 décembre 1984, et souffrant souvent d'insuffisance respiratoire, facilitant des infections secondaires (tuberculose). Les insuffisances respiratoires sont parfois telles que les malades comme Ram Pravad ne peuvent pas travailler ou faire d'efforts physiques, même mineurs, et restent cloitrés chez eux.
- une deuxième génération, surtout exposée aux pesticides abandonnés dans l'usine, et qui ont été lessivés par les pluies, contaminant alors les nappes phréatiques et donc l'eau potable pour toute la population aux alentours de l'usine.

The Bhopal disaster gives 2 generations of victims:
- the first generation, exposed to toxic gas released this night of December 3, 1984, is often suffering from respiratory insufficiency, facilitating secondary infections (tuberculosis). The respiratory insufficiencies are sometimes such as the patients as RAM Pravad cannot work or make physical efforts, even minor, and remain cloisters in their house.
- a second generation, especially exposed to the pesticides given up in the factory, and which was washed by the rains, then contaminating the ground water and thus the drinking water for all the population in the neighbourhoods of the factory.
